WHERE'S KLUMGONGYN? - WRITEUP

CHALLENGE DESCRIPTION:

Greetings Special Agent K. We have quite a strange case on our hands today. Our Lead Counsel Klumgongyn, has gone missing in action.

Now don’t be alarmed, I don’t mean this in any dangerous way. Lately the company chat has been used as a dumpster for GIF wars and edgy memes. Klumgongyn was so fed up with this, that he took one of the spaceships and warped to an unknown location.

He says it’s a “surprise vacation” and won’t come back for another two weeks. This is of course unacceptable behavior and we need to find him.

After arrival he sent a picture with the message “see you in two weeks memelords”. We need you to geolocate the image so we can send in a retrieval unit to pick him up.

Whether we’ll actually find him once we’re there is another issue. Shapeshifting alien lizard like creatures are hard to spot. They’ve been posing as politicians for years now and nobody’s really caught on to them either.

Special Agent K, you have 24 hours to locate Klumgongyn. After that we’ll start refusing to reimburse his travel expenses.

Password instruction. Use the Country and Streetname to form the password for opening the flagfile.

SOLVE:

First looking at the wall I saw advertising information painted on the wall:

Use it to search on Google and I found a Facebook page: 

When I access in, I get the following information:

Searching for Addu City on Google map, I found it is the city of the Maldives country (a rather small country and I didn't know it before).

So we got the name of the country, now we need to find the name of the street where the photo was taken to complete the password to unzip.

From Fanpage, I can get Taxi operations areas, so this will help reduce the search area.

Removing the Maldives from the list, there are 3 places to search: Hilton, Aareyf Magu, Hithadhoo. However, only one can be used because:

• Hilton is a hotel group
• Aareyf Magu can't find on Google Maps

Search Hithadhoo on Google Maps and then drag "Google Street View Little Yellow Man" to check which has Street View.

There are only 2 streets with Street View:

1. Elhe Didi Magu
2. Link Road

Use them in turn to make the password to extract the file and have been successful when using: Elhe Didi Magu.
